The 84CW series vortex mass flow meter with wafer connection is an addition to the Schneider Electric (formerly Foxboro) family of intelligent, high-performance vortex flow meters. The 84CW series is available with 4 to 20 mA, HART7, and/or Modbus communication and can optionally be equipped with temperature compensation for mass flow measurement of saturated steam and liquids. Additionally, the Foxboro 84CW features patented Active Tuning technology, which significantly enhances accuracy for Reynolds numbers starting from 5000.
The 84CW is available with wafer connections ranging from DN15 to DN200. In addition to vortex flow meters with wafer connections, there are also versions with flanged, threaded, or sanitary connections. The complete 84C series from Schneider Electric is explosion-proof certified as intrinsically safe and explosion-proof according to ATEX, IECEx, FM, CSA, Inmetro, KOSHA, NEPSI, and EAC standards.
The vortex flow meters are also available with a gold sensor, making them suitable for hydrogen applications. Gold is chosen for its excellent chemical stability and corrosion resistance, even in demanding environments such as hydrogen. It is inert, prevents reactions with hydrogen molecules, and minimizes the risk of brittleness or leakage. This makes gold an ideal material for sensors in hydrogen applications.
