The Schneider electric 6500W series is a battery-powered magnetic flow meter. This water meter has been developed for drinking water applications in remote locations where mains power is not available. Of course it is also suitable for other applications where battery power is useful. For locations with mains voltage, there is the FlexPower unit, with which the 6500W can also be connected to 230Vac or 24 Vdc. The internal battery then serves as a backup for the water meter. The Schneider Electric magnetic flowmeter can be expanded with built-in pressure and temperature measurement, eliminating the need to measure these parameters separately.
When the 6500W flow tube is combined with the IMT65W transmitter, in addition to the pulse outputs, it also has Modbus RTU communication for connection to an external system. In addition to flow measurement and optional temperature and pressure measurement, the Modbus communication also contains status information and diagnostic data. For the Modbus communication, there is also a special GPRS module for the 6500W water meter with which the data can be sent wirelessly over long distances.
