The 84CS series vortex mass flow meter with sanitary connection for the pharmaceutical and food industries is an addition to the Schneider Electric (formerly Foxboro) family of intelligent, high-performance vortex flow meters. The 84CS series is available with 4 to 20 mA, HART7, and/or Modbus communication and can optionally be equipped with temperature compensation for mass flow measurement of saturated steam and liquids. Additionally, the Foxboro 84CS features patented Active Tuning technology, which significantly enhances accuracy for Reynolds numbers starting from 5000.
The 84CS is available with TriClamp, I-line, DIN 11851 or ISS (ISO 2853) dairy coupling, RJT (BS 1864), or ANSI connections. In addition to vortex flow meters with sanitary connections, versions with flanged, wafer, or threaded connections are also available. The complete 84C series from Schneider Electric is explosion-proof certified as intrinsically safe and explosion-proof according to ATEX, IECEx, FM, CSA, Inmetro, KOSHA, NEPSI, and EAC standards. Furthermore, the 84CS series is 3A-certified for sanitary applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
The vortex flow meters are also available with a gold sensor, making them suitable for hydrogen applications. Gold is chosen for its excellent chemical stability and corrosion resistance, even in demanding environments such as hydrogen. It is inert, prevents reactions with hydrogen molecules, and minimizes the risk of brittleness or leakage. This makes gold an ideal material for sensors in hydrogen applications.
