The Lufft WS800-UMB is a product from the "WS" compact weather station family. This compact weather station is equipped with a temperature, relative humidity, global radiation (heat content of the light in W/m2), air pressure and doppler radar rain measurement and lightning detection. The intelligent rain gauge 'sees' whether it is raining or snowing. Due to the unique measuring principle (no moving parts), the rain gauge is maintenance-free and is automatically heated around the freezing point. The integrated ultrasonic wind sensor measures the wind direction and wind speed without moving parts and is therefore robust even at high wind speeds. The WS800-UMB detects lightning through an integrated sensor that analyzes the radio wave emission of lightning bolts. This provides a count of recognized lightning bolts. The sensor analyzes the spectrum and waveform of the received signal to suppress the detection of man-made electrical discharges. As standard, the WS weather stations have a digital output with, among other things, Modbus RTU. Optionally, one external temperature sensor can be connected.
